Privacy policy

This covers the website chloec.dev and the small Instagram helper that sends my guides by DM when someone comments a keyword (for example “GUIDE”) on a post by @chloec.dev. It’s run by me, Chloe, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The website

The site has no accounts, no forms and no ad trackers. Cloudflare, which hosts it, keeps standard technical logs (like IP address and browser) for security and to keep the site running. If you email me at [email protected], I get your email address and whatever you write, and I only use it to reply.

The Instagram DM helper

When you comment a guide keyword on my post, or DM me one, Instagram sends my helper:

• your Instagram-scoped ID (a number Instagram gives your account for my app only) and your username,
• the text and ID of your comment or message,
• whether you follow @chloec.dev, checked only after you message me or tap the button in my DM.

I use this only to send you the guide you asked for, to ask you to follow first if you don’t yet, and to avoid sending you the same message twice.

What’s stored: a short note that a comment or message was already handled, and which guide you asked for. These notes delete themselves automatically within 7 days. I don’t keep your messages, I don’t build profiles, and I don’t sell or share your data with anyone. Messages themselves stay in Instagram, under Instagram’s own privacy policy.

Deleting your data

Everything the helper stores expires on its own within 7 days. To delete it straight away, DM @chloec.dev the words delete my data, or email [email protected]. Details are on the data deletion page.
